Can anyone tell me if a USB Y cable is enough to power a USB HDD ?
I was thinking about this kind of cable.

Depend on your HDD peak (not average) power consumption. The Y cable provides about 1A current. Consider using teh USB 3 host port which can supply around 800mA.
