Emacs with Spacemacs works just fine on my Manjaro KDE.
I remember having some weird problem though. I'm not entirely sure, but I think
I got some message "Undefined color: WINDOW_FOREGROUND" or similar.
I think I needed to run something like

xrdb /dev/null

Are there any messages when running emacs in the terminal?
