I screwed up, need to reflash
#1
I was following an online video tutorial when I got my phone in; I didn't understand how slow my phone was, for when I tried to take a look at it when it was downloading updates it didn't screen on so I thought it turned off and thus I held the power button to turn it on; I must have actually turned it off when it was still updating.

Now I got some corrupted files that I can't fix in the system (believe me I've talked to my linux friends).  So is there any base phone software anywhere around here where I can img on a flash and try again from scratch?  Or should I just get a new phone?

Of course there is, being able to run different OS is the main selling point of the PinePhone.

See https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_S...e_Releases for a list of what's available.

Ok cool, do you know of any tutorials onto how to flash the OS and have it auto-boot when the data is on the phone?

Ok, I did the flash img to Micro SD and put it in the phone, and now the phone doesn't want to boot.  It boots fine without the SD card, but not with it.  What did I do wrong?
(When I try to turn it on, I am met with a orange indicator light and a 1 sec vibration, and that's it)

maybe you have to flash to the EMMC to fix it first

And how to flash the emmc ?
I have a similar problem (I forgot the password for the OS, also I thought that I installed it on the SD card but apparently I actually installed it on the emmc).

The "getting started" says how to reflash the removable emmc, but I don't know if that's the same thing than how to flash the emmc that comes with the Pinephone (I don't believe it's removable).

Edit : sorry, there's a further section in "getting started" about flashing the Integral emmc.
But they only say how to install another OS on it, what I want is to boot from the SD card (so I can test different OSes).

Also I tried to just boot on the SD card and re-do the installation with a Pin number I won't forgot, but the phone only boots to the installed OS.
I tried to press the volume bouton down when booting, but it changes nothing.

The original (non-Pro) PinePhone will always prefer to boot from the microSD card if it is bootable. You need to either physically remove the microSD card or make it not bootable (by overwriting the boot sector with dd) to force the PinePhone to boot from eMMC.

So, why doesn't it ?
Is there a way to check (on my computer) that the SD card is indeed bootable ?
It used to be, since I booted on it to install the OS in the first place...
I'm not saying that I'm incapable of screwing up even basic things, but how to check if I actually did ?
