Did you managed to get your HAT working?
I have a similar issue with a dAISy HAT which comunicates through the serial pins with the board, as soon as the HAT is on, the Rock64 won't boot.
Which is similar in behavior as described in the pinned Rock64 Boot-up Bug with Serial Console Cable thread.
Luckily for me the HAT needs only 3.3V and Rx/Tx so I may have to use a cheap USB to serial adapter to get my HAT working with the Rock64.
It's a shame that we can't use a HAT made for RaspberryPi and plug it straight onto a Rock64 and expect it to work.
