I bought the 3GB convergence edition Manjaro Pinephone back in October. At that time the factory-installed Manjaro OS was so unstable as to be unusable, so I tried Mobian which I've stuck with since I use Debian and Debian-derived distributions on just about everything else. I'm sure though that there has been a lot of development and improvements in Manjaro since that time.
You might want to look at the multi-boot image that's available. Copy that to an SD card and you can try (currently) 17 different Linux distributions to get a feel for how they perform. See the thread "UPDATED: 17-distro multi-boot image for Pinephone (incl. 3GiB variant)".
