Hello folks,

I've been playing with my A64+ for the last few days.... for some reason, whenever I leave my A64 "alone" for a few hours, it reboots (this is just an educated guess) and enters some kind of maintenance mode: if I connect it to a monitor, it shows the "usual" spinning gears. However, it never gets out of it (or at least, it doesn't in 32 hours). Power cycling does not help - the next boot is always to spinning gears, unless (of course) I re-flash the SD-Card.
I've tried 3 times with two different cards - same thing. Examining the SD, I've seen that in fact widows did resize the data partition to reclaim the unused space at the end of the card. Tonight I'm going to give it another spin, but this time I've expanded the partition on my PC right after re-flashing the ffu. I'm using IoT Dashboard to do the flashing (in case it matters).
What I'd like to know is..... Is this an expected behavior? Did any of you experience the same thing?

Hi,

I have Windows 10 IOT running on my Pine64 2Gb. Everything looks OK. I can manage it via SSH and also via the device portal (port 8080).
I have keyboard, mouse, internet, and Bluetooth.
I even have a small .Net Core "Hello World" app running on it (!).
But the problem is after about a day, I see an animated gearbox and the system is dead. Has nothing to do with the .Net Core app. It looks like a memory leak in the system. Anybody has the same problem and/or knows a solution?
I know it is bad to reply to your own message. But in case someone is interested. These are the steps to get this working:

Step-1
Get Win10-IOT running on Pine64.

Download the latest image (http://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/Pine_A6...T_Releases) and burn it on an SD-Card. This sounds easy but it is not. You have to convert a ffu file to a disk image. The python script I tried did no work. I succeeded with the IOT Dashboard on a Win10 laptop. In my case it ended after 99% with an error (could not write blabla..) and a Windows popup that I have to format this disk. Do not do that. Just pull the SD-Card out.

Plug the SD-Card into your Pine64. Make sure it is connected to the local network and you have a DHCP server running. Apply power and wait for 5 minutes. You can see by the LED near the UTP connection that it is doing something.

I had a HDMI monitor attached and a Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse plugged in in the lower USB. A language select menu was displayed on the screen, but the keyboard was not recognized. After half a minute the default language is selected and an overview is displayed. For me it displayed two IP addresses but no connected devices.

Now you can connect to your Pine64 via SSH with the regular IP address (not the kernel debug one). Username/password is Administrator/p@ssw0rd You can also inspect your system via the portal http://<YourPine64IP>:8080 with the same username/password.

I connected a USB switch to the lower USB and attached the keyboard and a usb memory stick to the switch. I tried several keyboards but they did not work. I attached an old cheap Sweex BlueTooth adapter to the switch and to my surprise I could see in the portal that it was working. And now also the Logitech keyboard was working and the USB stick was recognized as D: drive. And they were all diplayed in the overview under connected devices. I doubt whether this has something to do with plugging in the BlueTooth adapter.

You can mount your Pine64 on a PC with \\<YourPine64IP>\C$ Reading is fast, but writing is very slow (or does not work at all). This also hits you when you try to deploy and debug your App with VisualStudio.

In general SSH is working best. E.g. if you enter D: you are swapped to the D: drive. In the commandline of the Pine64 itself this does not work. Also the disk size is not reported correctly.

Do not forget to turn off the Kernel debugging as mentioned on the Pine64 site.

Step 2. Create a DotNetCore 2.0 app.

Install the DotNetCore 2.0 SDK on your PC.

Follow the instructions from https://www.hackster.io/Ra5tko/running-n...arm-0bb717. Instead of the pi calculation I did a simple hello world.

Use win-arm in <RuntimeIdentifiers> and publish for this identifier. Do not use win-arm64. I spend a lot of time on this. It looks like this Pine64 IOT build is 32 bit. (Which is not that bad, because now you can use Raspberry PI examples). Run the .exe from the commandline/SSH. I used a self-contained package instead of copying this preview release to Sytem32 on the Pine64.

I transferred files to my Pine64 with a USB stick, because writing via the network is too slow.

Ladies?? and Gentlemen!

After so loooooooooong silence, I have several good news for you guys who care about Windows 10 IoT Core on PINE64.

We have released the latest RS2 version image to Lim, and he will upload it soon.

In this release, we have fixed some serious bugs such as Ethernet. (oh oh oh~~~ we can use Ethernet eventually!!! )

And another bomb! I uploaded core driver binaries and packaging toolchains on GitHub!

Here is the repo address: https://github.com/Leeway213/BSP-aw1689

And also some driver source code here with A64 datasheet in readme: https://github.com/Leeway213/driver-samples

Welcome makers developers and anyone-elsers to post your feedback.

Hello, I'm trying to create a media application using Windows IoT, and I started with a Raspberry Pi, but unfortunately it doesn't support any hardware acceleration, so video display was unbearably slow. Does the Windows IoT image for the Pine64 support any hardware acceleration? I was looking into the documentation for the Mali400MP2, and it looks like it would be just as difficult to get DirectX working on this chipset as it would on the RPi, but perhaps AllWinner worked more with Microsoft to get things working. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I would love to get my hands on the source with drivers no matter what shape it is in.
I am willing to work on it and smooth out some of the rough edges and contribute back to the community.
I am an embedded Microsoft MVP ready to help.
Lots of experience on other IoT Core platforms and toolchain.

Hello.

I installed Windows 10 IoT Core on PINE 64.
The following problems occurred.
For writing the Win10 IoT Core image to the SD card,
I used WindowsIoTCoreImageHelper.

1) If you reboot after setup, the OS will not start up.
2) Even if you connect the ethernet directly to the ethernet port, can not connect to the network.
Even if you connect the USB ethernet adapter via the USB hub to the USB port,
OS can recognize the USB device but can not connect to the network.

Please tell me the cause and solution.
Thank you.
