Pinebook Pro Screw Sizes??? - TDC_PBP - 02-08-2020 Does anyone have definite screw sizes for the Pinebook Pro? I would really like them sooner rather then later because I have already lost two screws from the bottom of my PBP! (it is my fault because I didn't screw them back in all the way after reassembling it...) Would a kit like this: https://www.amazon.com/CO-RODE-Notebook-Computer-Screwdriver/dp/B01GE9V55E/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=laptop+screw+kit&a qid=1581169631&sr=8-8 have screws close to the ones in the PBP? Any help is appreciated! RE: Pinebook Pro Screw Sizes??? - MIchael - 02-08-2020 Just broke out the Mitutoyo Calipers and took a couple screws out All measurements in mm Small screw: Head - 3.44 Shaft - 1.97 Thread length - 2.1 Overall length - 3.05 Big screw: Head - 3.44 Shaft - 1.97 Thread length - 4.41 Overall length - 5.85 Hope that helps.... I wouldn't think they'd need to be exactly that size but as close as possible RE: Pinebook Pro Screw Sizes??? - TDC_PBP - 02-08-2020 (02-08-2020, 08:35 AM)MIchael Wrote: Just broke out the Mitutoyo Calipers and took a couple screws out Thanks sooo much for your prompt reply! Could you post a link to a reputable site (like Amazon) that sells these specific screws? I'm pretty sure those would be a disaster. Ya know, the whole coarse thread screw into a fine thread hole..... But if ya want to try..... ebay link of some I think might work and they're black https://www.ebay.ca/itm/MXCP1-450Pcs-M2-M2-5-M3-Cross-Screws-Laptop-Box-Set/264056191313?_trkparms=aid%3D333200%26algo%3DCOMP.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20171012094517%26meid%3D9a753ca720064f14880998a9660d67f0%26pid%3D100008%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D3%26sd%3D264093172775%26itm%3D264056191313%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100008.m2219 RE: Pinebook Pro Screw Sizes??? - tophneal - 02-08-2020 (02-08-2020, 08:35 AM)MIchael Wrote: Just broke out the Mitutoyo Calipers and took a couple screws out Thanks or measuring these! Have you had the opportunity to add them to the wiki? Wonder if the thread "pitch" would come into play ? or Perhaps at that small of size, there may only be one pitch available... ? RE: Pinebook Pro Screw Sizes??? - MIchael - 02-08-2020 I haven't ever added anything to a wiki page but I can sure give it a try in a little bit. As far as the pitch of the thread goes, it absolutely matters. If you try and put a course thread screw in a fine thread hole, you'll most likely break the plastic. I broke out the tap and die set for the first time in 15 or so years and pulled out the gauge. When there are this small, it's hard for me to really tell. I'm going to guess from the blown up pic its a 0.6 but could also be a 0.5 |
