Why not? This is PBP, not H64, the performance and stability is already much better than regular Ubuntu. I can upgrade to 20.04 and run everything with great stability. Why not to use it?

Nobody can demand support for anything, especially if one gives nothing - our private resources are very tiny, especially if we have no hardware, no financial support from hardware maker and especially if he was extremely hostile in his demands. Public donations barely covers download servers costs ...

Which means he made another several hundreds EUR of damage to the non-profit project he (probably) never give anything to. And he made a damage to our reputation.
I had to lock down communication which only happens once per two years.
Dealing with choleric "clients" is emotionally very expensive. Welcome to help dealing with such situations - that we can deal with R&D.

About 500-1000 people gets on one person that know something ... We have no resources to talk with end-users. Its a huge emotional and financial cost, nobody covers and we can't expand this, so we have to limit support. This is also one of the major reasons why we don't want to deal with Raspberry Pi .. and its mainly illiterate crowd.

I really appreciate we have working Armbian for PBP, now using 20.04 and it is really the most reliable OS for PBP so far. It is stable, supports KDE and also can run my emulator. Thank you very much, Armbian team!

I am sometimes in awe of what people find 'appropriate' to demand of other people, who volunteer their time to deliver something free AND free of charge.
The degree of impertinence of some is completely crazy. I've seen this SO many times at this point that I simply disregard it for the most part.

does armbian provide hardware acceleration for pbp? if so how? armhf or arm64? are the kernel sources and config publicly available?
asking for a friend.

I can just say that PBP Armbian is 64-bit arm64 distro with hardware acceleration support via rockchip-drm kernel module. It is not perfect, but it works for most of the things I tried.

Hi All
I'm moved to write my first post anywhere on the forum since receiving my PBP. Why? Because after trying the other linux OS's I've settled on Armbian + XFCE desktop and I simply CANNOT BELIEVE how well everything works!!
UX is as good as any laptop I've owned - right down to creamy smooth scrolling of any web pages I visit.
I was pretty fond of the XFCE desktop already, coming from using Xubuntu for the last 10 years.
Everybody who's ever worked on ALL the technology that's come together right here at my fingertips is amazing and if only there was a way to tell each and every one of them how grateful I am.
Those of you who do see this: Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Being over 50, I seriously don't imagine I'll buy another laptop in my lifetime - this one is my forever machine

PS last hurdle is getting a compatible adaptor to run external HDMI monitor from USB C port, then I'll be using this for my CAD work (using FreeCad)..
