My Rock64 no power or light issue - Nolaboy406 - 07-23-2018

Hey everyone just got my board in today had my sd card ready with android Oreo on it. Plugged everything up to (ie: HDMI,ethernet cable and remote dongle) plugged in the power supply I bought from them along with my board ........and nothing no lights no power nothing. This was for the initial start up need some help Pine family thanks

I assume you tried powering it up without an SD card inserted and got the same result. Sounds like a bad power supply or a bad power connector on the board. Hard to tell. Do you have a meter to test output on power supply and input on the board.

If you had a power supply from an old IP webcam which has the same barrel connector you could try using it to rule out a DOA board. Those IP webcam power supplies are usually 2amp so it would at least boot up the Rock64 if it's working.

Alternatively you could just return the lot to the supplier

The green LED of ROCK64 is directly connected to the power supply and can not be controlled by software.
Therefore, if the green LED does not light up, it means that an appropriate voltage is not supplied from the power-supply.

1. The power supply itself is broken.
2. The board & the equipment connected to it required excessive current, so the power supply was protected

Disconnect all connected peripheral devices and try supplying power
Still if the green LED does not light up the power-supply or ROCK64 board is broken.

He plugged power into the audio jack. Solved.
