New Pinetab- error when attempting to install updates - authorjaw - 02-08-2026
Just got my first Pinetab- thrilled with the quality!!
But...I can't seem to get updates to install- have searched the web for solutions including "sudo pacman -Syu" and related variations, but no matter what do I keep getting the following error:
"Dependency resolution failed:
libavcodec.so (followed by string of info)
libswrsample.so (followed by string of info)
libicuuc,so (followed by string of info)
Not being a dev I'm stuck at how to correct this issue- does anyone know of a solution?

Sorry, I have not seen this and have open an other post.
I try "sudo pacman -Syu" yesterday. All looks fine and working as long as the screensaver is not active or if no restart is performed.
The next login goes in a loop and the desktop will be never arrived.
CTRL+ALT+F2 enter the terminal. Here I can log in but no network, "startx" is not working...
After I install the latest factory image, I try to install the available actualization via Discover. The same ...
Next "factory reset" needed...
