* /lib64 is a symbolic link and not pointing at usr/lib64 exactly. - jabi27 - 07-26-2025

Hi

I see that others have had this issue, but it is not clear to me if there is any solution or bypass ?

Quote:apt upgrade

Preparing to unpack .../base-files_13.8_arm64.deb ...
******************************************************************************
*
* The base-files package cannot be installed because
* /lib64 is a symbolic link and not pointing at usr/lib64 exactly.
..
Error: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Best and thanks

/Jan

Upgrade to base-files 13.6 broken by symlink /lib64 -> /usr/lib #99

You can just delete the symlink.
