best way to get a stuck sd card out? - elix - 03-13-2025

so i have always had problems with the micro sd card in my pinebook pro.
the micro sd card is now stuck and i wanna switch distros.
i tried the old knife method, etc. but ended up screwing up the outer part of the card.
is my next bet to the case off and get it out that way?
not sure its even safe to use the card at this point.

thanks

Taking the case apart only gets you marginally better access if my memory serves.

Your best bet is probably a good tweezer or small needle noise pliers.

But be VERY careful.
Trying to lever a SD card out will easily destroy an SD card, I did it to a 500gb five years ago when it was $$$.
Last try glue something like parachute cord outer to the card and chip the epoxy off later.

By the way, you may want to abandon the card and get one of these to solve that problem.
