Yet another new Pinebook keyboard problem - MikoBob - 09-09-2024

At least the Enter key does not seem to work, so I can't do the initial setup. I see other messages about dead keyboards but I don't yet see a solution.

This seems to be a huuuge problem.

Try an external keyboard.

I solved my keyboard problem.

First, I made a mistake by trying to set up the system using the keyboard. That does not work. I had to plug in a mouse and do all of the setup selections using the mouse.

Then, I selected the keyboard layout as one of the setup questions. I can't remember what I selected, but I think it was something like 103 or 105 key default layout, and that worked. As of then, the enter key started to work. And all of the other keys also worked; I checked them all.

So my PineBook is now good to go.

And I apologize for my previous complaints, but somebody should add to the startup instructions:
1. plug in a mouse
2. select the correct keyboard layout (and specify what it should be).
