Cant boot into an OS - trashtendenz - 09-09-2024

Hi,

Pinebook Pro did arrive today. When turning it on (battery fully charged) I was able to boot into Manjaro. When rebooting I had visual glitches and after the second reboot I wasnt able to boot anymore. Green LED turns on, Charging LED as well. No sign of any booting. Armbian flashed onto SDcard doesnt boot either with emmc turned both on and off.

Any help you can provide to get it running again.
I have no clue where to even really start

Kind regards

Unfortunately I don't have any links you can follow. But this site is full of examples of what you are describing, with solutions.

Manjaru comes with a version of U-Boot that doesn't want to boot anything but Manjaru. I presume it put that on the SPI ROM. But possibly you just have a non-bootable sd card.

If the green light comes on, it is surely booting. That LED is turned on by the operating system.

It sounds like your Pinebook Pro might be experiencing some issues related to the boot process.

eMMC Off, SD Card On: Try turning off the eMMC using the internal switch and boot from your SD card. Make sure the Armbian image you flashed is specifically for the Pinebook Pro. Sometimes an incorrect image can prevent booting.
