RE: Manjaro ARM 19.12 Official Release - PineBook Pro - xmixahlx - 03-13-2020 could be that: there is a new brightness scale with dts changes. first set the brightness to 100%, try 60% for "normal" usage. RE: Manjaro ARM 19.12 Official Release - PineBook Pro - wdt - 03-13-2020 cd /sys/class/backlight/edp-backlight su (for me, sudo did not work) cat br* echo 3000 >brightness (or more, me 3200) (I'm not 100% sure, funct-F2 didn't work, after this it did) RE: Manjaro ARM 19.12 Official Release - PineBook Pro - crocky - 03-13-2020 (03-13-2020, 09:58 PM)wdt Wrote: cd /sys/class/backlight/edp-backlight Can’t read the display, so dim that I can’t even see the mouse cursor! I can get a terminal up with shortcut keys but still not able to read anything, it will probably be easier to reload my old version from the SD card... Thanks for trying... Might have to plug the power in.... Hope that fixes it! After the updates, my screen came back very dim as well, but I was able to correct it using the keyboard (Fn-F2) RE: Manjaro ARM 19.12 Official Release - PineBook Pro - xmixahlx - 03-14-2020 toggle to a tty login type your command and hit enter profit RE: Manjaro ARM 19.12 Official Release - PineBook Pro - rossk - 03-14-2020 Here's my problem-- after that big round of updates, every so often when I'm browsing the web, when clicking a link or entering a URL, the screen locks. It happens in Chromium and qutebrowser, but not Firefox. I'll note that both Chromium and qutebrowser are built on webkit. Here is a Solution. Please increase the default brightness from the Power Management App in your respective DE. For XFCE Go to XCFE Power Management > Display > Increase the Brightness and Apply it. I had documented it on Manjaro Forum though. https://forum.manjaro.org/t/screen-dim-on-pinebook-pro-after-arm-stable-update-2020-03-11/128914/23?u=spikerguy For KDE-Plasma Go to Energy Saving > Screen Brightness > Increase it to around 50% and apply it. This will get set for every boot. Thanks. RE: Manjaro ARM 19.12 Official Release - PineBook Pro - dhosh - 03-16-2020 5.6.0-0.4-MANJARO-ARM LibreOffice: Version: 6.4.1.2 Build ID: 6.4.1-3 CPU threads: 6; OS: Linux 5.6; UI render: default; VCL: kf5; Locale: en-US (en_US.utf8); UI-Language: en-US Calc: threaded When working with documents in Writer, I get random pastes of what appears to be in my clipboard. I likely pasted the text once, but it shows up in multiple random locations in the document. I can go through and clean them up (delete them), and I swear they pop up elsewhere! I can go to Manjaro's clipboard and clear it, and they still seem to creep in. I have found a similar post regarding LibreOffice, and they pointed to hardware, or OS issues. Anyone else see these issues? I have not noticed this happening in any other application, but then again, I don't write a lot of text in any other application. |
