RE: RockPro64 Linux Manjaro HDMI 4K - PakoSt - 05-02-2020 Hmm... Alright, I have two other ideas, @mkne : - Change EnableHiDPI=false to true inside /usr/lib/sddm/sddm.conf.d/default.conf - Switch from sddm to gdm as a default display manager: systemctl enable gdm.service --force Currently I'm experimenting to update the Wayfire edition and Plasma-Mobile on pine64lts/ rockpro64 and sddm is giving me some problems there. This little ARM board is running KDE nicely on wayland and xorg with a mainline kernel.... Just fuzzy on a 4K monitor. On mainline, I'm not convinced the USB-C port is working, but that's a problem for another day... The kernel initial boot is to 1080 in the console. All the other 4K capable SOCs detect the monitors "preferred" mode and run even the console at 4K. I noticed a patch here: https://gitlab.com/ayufan-repos/rock64/linux-kernel/-/commit/6a0ff717c9c3cfecc995a38641653db7ee7d69a3?view=parallel I'm not sure if it's relevant to the Rockpro64, or not? I'm not sure if PINE64 have patches that will be added to the Mainline Kernel... Do you think this is a Kernel issue? Thanks, Mkne RE: RockPro64 Linux Manjaro HDMI 4K - PakoSt - 05-03-2020 This piece is for the older 4.4 kernels (which aren't using Panfrost). But it's a nice find! If it's from the kernel, then we ought to dig there a bit. From what I can see, the RP64 is using the PBP kernel for the most part with Manjaro. It could explain why the display is defaulting to 1080p. Unfortunately I have no idea what to look for :| On the USB-C - interesting, it doesn't work for me with Manjaro as well (haven't tried with one of the older distros yet). I'll install the official Debian image later today to see how it will behave there |
