This makes sense as otherwise there would be no way to recover from a corrupted SPI loader as SPI has the highest boot priority. I've used Tow Boot to export eMMC and write mobian image to it. Running fine for the last two weeks. RE: R U running from eMMC -- If so how? - Tim_D - 04-24-2022 (02-17-2022, 03:31 PM)lllsondowlll Wrote: Step 1. Install Tow-boot from sdcard Wait! Say what? 1) I've got no idea what "tow-boot" is, 2) is this in lieu of the "mythical' "RE" switch that these consumer alphas have (though mine lacks one), how exactly is that supposed to "work"? 3) now THAT I would LOVE to do! (Did I mention that the command line is DEAD because I have NO keyboard access?) 4) That just sounds FUN! RE: R U running from eMMC -- If so how? - wibble - 04-25-2022 1) https://tow-boot.org/devices/pine64-pinephonePro.html 2) No - it's part of tow-boot that provides similar functionality to JumpDrive on the non-Pro PinePhone. See the bottom of the tow-boot link above. It hasn't been ported to the PinePhone Pro, but some people mistakenly tried to use it with the Pro. https://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/PinePhone_Installation_Instructions#Using_JumpDrive https://github.com/dreemurrs-embedded/Jumpdrive RE: R U running from eMMC -- If so how? - Tim_D - 05-03-2022 (05-02-2022, 01:10 PM)wibble Wrote:(05-01-2022, 10:39 PM)Tim_D Wrote:(04-25-2022, 04:01 AM)wibble Wrote: 1) https://tow-boot.org/devices/pine64-pinephonePro.html Thanks for the information. RE: R U running from eMMC -- If so how? - 98cwitr - 06-07-2022 Like others here, I used an sdcard to install tow-boot, then reflashed it with the Mobian installer, which has an option to install to eMMC. Worked great! Doing distro-hopping without an sdcard is going to be nearly impossible but best phrased as impractical. A 128GB sd is like $18 on Amazon. Your computer will need an sd card reader, and if you're using Windows and not linux, use something like Rufus for flashing. Do you happen to have a link to download Manjaro Plasma for the PinePhone Pro? If I can find a site I will download and checksum it. I forgot which Manjaro I have, but something is making me "think" 4.6.? Edit: I managed to miss that your post date was before it was released. |
