I suspect you're right - you can try generating a flashable image as described here while we await confirmation from the developer.
Edit: 3gb version should be compatible - have you succesfully booted another distro from the sd card?
Different person, but I could not boot on a 3gb GloDroid image. I've tried both deploy-to- images, as well as the generated flashable image. They all result in the same outcome. The phone turns the on, with the LED red, and that is it.
I'm successfully able to boot off of the SD card from Mobian, and PostmarketOS as well as off of the eMMC for both distros.
I believe the 3gb memory difference has to be supported by code changes from this commit:

Is there currently a known bug where pressing the power button doesn't turn the screen off? And the screen never turns off due to inactivity? I didn't find anything on the github issues, but I didn't know if it was just my install or a known thing

Does it only happen when plugged into a pc? I suggest reporting it as a new issue.
You can also run this
command to check your device version is being picked up correctly.
I'll create a new issue, then, thanks!
Just for clarification, I'm Count042 on github, so I've posted the output of that command on the associated issue for the 3gb version.
for what i have seen on other oses, u-boot has to be pached to be able to boot on the 3g ram model. So until they update the build with the patched u-boot will not be possible to boot it on the 3g model.

Yes, I think at least a couple 3gb owners including
have got the patched build working.
