I bought a few of the SoEdge parts and I wanted to get them booted off soldered eMMC. I did order some eMMCs as well but they havnt arrived. I have a bunch of eMMC that match the footprint and probably the pinout. Im pretty good at solder but is there anything I should know before doing this so I dont kill the module.

- checking pinout to make sure it matches
- correctly solder
- seems they use FORSEE eMMC, I dont have those parts but I have something similar.

How about software interfaces? Are they pretty similar across different eMMC parts?

Any help would be great! Ill post my results.

Hi Folks!

Setup an A64 LTS board with Armbian focal and trying to get the Pine DAC POT running. Any insight into the method to make this work?
Is it via dt-overlay like in raspian ... or something else? I am assuming this is possible since the Volumio image claims to work ...

Thanks!

I'm having some trouble understanding the wiki for the soon to be released SoEdge. How do the SoPine and the SoEdge compare in terms of performance and features? From the wiki, it seems like the SoEdge is less performant, which is odd because it's newer. Maybe I'm a bit daft, but I think the wiki can use some revising and I'd like to help.

I've read on the wiki that the SoPine has a Allwinner A64 SoC (Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 Processor@1152Mhz), where as the SoEdge has Rockchip RK1808 SoC (Dual Cortex-A35 up to 1.6GHz).

Here are the SoC spec pages:
http://www.allwinnertech.com/index.php?c...index&id=9

Here is how I compared the CPUs:

It seems like USB3 will not be available on older but otherwise compatible (?) hardware like the clusterboard.

Any chance there could also be an undated clusterboard to more fully utilize this module and or maybe also prepare for a sopine2 module?
