How to get Ubuntu SD Card - Bob123456789 - 01-08-2016

I just ordered a +.

When, where  and how can I get an SD card with the correct version of Ubuntu?

I saw a way to order one for Android, but not Ubuntu.

Thanks for your help.

I'm not completely sure, but i believe there is no support for Linux YET.
There should be support for Linux sometime after launch, but at launch time you can only expect Android support.
How good the Linux support will be is something i recommmend you to wait and see.

How long is the best guess as to waiting for Linux? I need to get it productive pretty quickly. Do I need to go the Android route to accomplish that?

Mine will be sent in March.

I believe the Pine64 guys said they had Ubuntu Snappy Core working.
As far as I've tested Android works nice.
I will be trying my efforts on Debian next.

Regarding Ubuntu: Just a statement: http://forum.pine64.org/archive/index.php?thread-4.html

I doubt anyone has booted Linux so far on the A64: http://irclog.whitequark.org/linux-sunxi/2016-01-08#15131899

Which pre-loaded Micro SD cards there will be available initially haven't been announced yet.

Progress is being made with Linux / Ubuntu, though:
