Anyone have success on a GPS module to work on the Android image for the Pine64?

No - but:

"The u‑blox Android GNSS Solution is available free of charge. The royalty‑free u‑blox Android GNSS driver is licensed for reuse in customer products and available from u‑blox upon request. The u‑center Android solution supports all USB/UART, DDC, SPI based u‑blox 5 to u‑blox M8 GNSS receivers and works with Android versions 2.3 to 5.1."

The Pine64 has UART - SPI - USB.

Maybe this helps you.

Hello SeamusPadreg,

I was just wondering if you managed to get the USB GPS to work with Pine64 Android image?

I have a Bluetooth GPS. I could test it later today. (Have no plan to use GPS functionality in my media center ;-) but it would be funny to get it working! :-) )

In my experience, GPS work with Android if they speak standard NMEA protocol and are connected to a UART the device is listening on. Not sure if there is a convention for Android as to what baudrate and serial format is expected, like 115200 8N1...

Should be the same.

Just tried to download the U-centre evaluation app from PlayStore and get "Your device isn't compatible with this version". Any idea why ?

In my experience is that this occurs because the app is grumpy that you're using a rooted image. For the apps that don't want you running a rooted image you need to fool it with an app that hides the fact that your image is rooted. It can work the other way round too... if the app requires rooted device (and you don't have a rooted device) it won't let you load that version.
