UBPorts Battery Observation - appdev46 - 02-07-2020

Has anyone noticed battery issues with UBPorts?

I received my PinePhone and tried out UBPorts.  I did upgrade and update and played around a bit.  The phone was charged to 100%.  I locked the screen and went to bed.  In the morning the battery was completely dead.

It appears the OS didn't go to sleep or something was running heavily enough to completely drain battery.

Yeah, I tried how long the battery lasts. About 7 hrs. The phone is also warm all the time. So it doesn't go to sleep. I think the power management is not there yet.

I have this problem not only under UBPorts but under PMOS too. The device gets extremely hot and the battery drains in a few hours.

I've noticed that the battery will only charge if I turn on the phone while it is plugged in. After the cord is unplugged charging will not work until the phone is restarted with the cord attached.

I definitely experienced this. Just got my PinePhone yesterday. The battery runs down quick, but hopefully it's something they can fix.

I think it´s with modem wifi activated, if not battery remains "normal" Modem gets hot also when activated...

Edit: tried last img and goes down quickly with and without wifi, modem. Some issues charging sometimes also.

Did you remove the plastic between de contacts of the battery used for shipping the phone?

I have a feeling the issue is:

I don't really know, and I hope not as this would mean the Braveheart hardware will never be daily driver material...
