Chromium will not start - sititahwsi@gmail.com - 02-04-2020

I am unable to run Chromium. Every time I try to start it it seems to go through the loading and then immediately shuts down. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong? It worked on first boot but when I tried to do sync a couple of times it presented with the previous symptom. Is there a way to reload with the default config? I tried loading with synaptic but still the same problem. Thanks for any help.

I assume you're using the default Debian. Did you uninstall/reinstall Chromium? The OOTB Debian uses specific flags on the launcher for the browser, you may be missing those if you replaced it. If you do a search of the forums, you should be able to find the flags you need.

I am using the default Debian, what is OOTB Debian? I will search for flags, thanks.

That's the one. Default = Out Of The Box. Add those flags to your launcher command.

Looks like you are not the only one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1808959
As suggested in the post: sudo snap refresh chromium --channel=stable/core16
