UK Power Supply - User 11436 - 02-03-2020 Do Pine64 sell any UK power supplies suitable for the Pinebook Pro? RE: UK Power Supply - Arwen - 02-03-2020 The supplied power supply, (US or EU), can be used in the UK with the proper external plug adapter. If you want a power supply that has the adapter as part of the power supply, use this one; https://store.pine64.org/?product=rock64-5v-3a-international-power-supply-with-au-eu-uk-us-plug RE: UK Power Supply - User 11436 - 02-03-2020 (02-03-2020, 05:03 AM)Arwen Wrote: The supplied power supply, (US or EU), can be used in the UK with the proper external plug adapter. Thank you. The product in the link was what I was after. Ben RE: UK Power Supply - Arwen - 02-03-2020 Your welcome. Whence the power supply arrives and if it solves your problem, don't forget to mark this thread as solved. Just so other UK users know where they can get a UK specific power supply. RE: UK Power Supply - Tazdevl - 02-05-2020 I'm happy with my Dell USB-C charger, makes traveling a bit easier RE: UK Power Supply - stealthbanana - 02-05-2020 Any suitable power supply with the correct barrel will work, I bought one from Amazon UK as I stood on the supplied charger. Having said that, I have switched to using an 18W USB PD supply and a decent charge cable, charges faster, though I have not got round to doing any actual testing. I will stress the need to get a decent USB-C PD cable, and not a cheapy one, or none PD rated cable though. Could the shop details be updated to hilight this issue or even a sticky in the forum. My excitement at receiving my PBP was somewhat muted when I realised that I'm going to have to use a travel adaptor to plug the device in. Ordering the PSU with the necessary adaptor is going to cost me over $20 + taxes - the shipping is more than the adaptor or more likely I'll end up trawling through the net to find a suitable adaptor. Would have been happy to pay a little extra for the adaptor with the initial order or make it a choice like the keyboard layout at the checkout - doesn't seem fair to penalise UK users. Buyers in the UK should be warned that they will be sent a power supply that they cannot use without additional kit. After all, specifying a UK keyboard is a big hint that the laptop is destined for use in the UK! It's annoying to have excitedly unwrapped my package only to discover that I am going to have to order something else to be able to use it.(02-03-2020, 05:03 AM)Arwen Wrote: The supplied power supply, (US or EU), can be used in the UK with the proper external plug adapter. RE: UK Power Supply - mjc - 09-14-2020 New UK user here. I've just found I have the same problem. The product page hasn't been updated. I have been using one of these https://www.syncwire.com/collections/wall-chargers/products/syncwire-30w-2-port-usb-wall-charger (available on Amazon) and one of these https://pine64.com/product/2-meters-length-usb-to-type-h-barrel-power-cable/ and I think it's a better solution. The cable is longer and I can charge my PBP and phone at the same time. |
