PinePhone open h/w buzz - Dmytro - 01-25-2020 I want to make some direction regarding those recent "open" voices. And I can see two kinds of talking about "PinePhone openness". The first one is rational kind of "PinePhone vs Librem 5". The other is trolling on different server. So, I just want to remind you the best way to deal with troll is to ignore it. There is no sens to argue with troll. Doesn't matter if it is an article, blog, or forum. Their primary goal is to create a buzz. It is their job. Yes, trolls get paid for every response they get. Don't feed them and they will go away And I don't think it is targeted by any one. PP is just a hot topic among excited piners. So, it is easy to provoke to make some money. I'm definitely an outsider with this, since with all the honesty I couldn't care less about it. what concerns me is real stuff like for example why rk3399 UART IO lines are 3.0V instead of 3.3V? of course, it's more a question to rockchip. there is a thread about it here, ironically it didn't get much attention, of course, "openness" is way more important.
