Pinebook Pro (ANSI) availability notification? - MechanicalPirate - 01-20-2020 Hello all, I came across the Pinebook Pro and realized it is what I've been waiting for in a laptop. Is there somewhere I can sign up to be notified when the ANSI edition becomes in-stock? If not, I don't mind checking periodically. Thanks, MP RE: Pinebook Pro (ANSI) availability notification? - sensiblesalmon - 01-23-2020 I emailed pine sales yesterday asking if a mailing list or something similar existed for the next round of pinebook pro preorders. I'll let you know if/when I hear back. I also asked system76 if they were considering an ARM machine any more seriously--would be nice to have more competition in the space. RE: Pinebook Pro (ANSI) availability notification? - henryzhou - 01-24-2020 Thank you. Please let us know if you hear anything from them. RE: Pinebook Pro (ANSI) availability notification? - sensiblesalmon - 02-21-2020 System76 said that "ARM based laptops are not on our roadmap yet. This could change in the future, but I'm not sure when that would occur." Which is understandable--it's definitely a niche market at this point. RE: Pinebook Pro (ANSI) availability notification? - xmixahlx - 02-21-2020 it would make more sense for sustem76 to do a low power intel cpu. n5000 + 8GB ddr4 ram + 256gb nvme ssd = winning. someone could even make an upgrade module for the pbp, or pine could sell the pbp without a compute module for diy. possibilities! |
