Wifi issues - CameronNemo - 12-15-2019

I am trying to use the stock mrfixit kernel and modules with a Void Linux rootfs and wifi firmware. Whenever I try to use the wifi, I get "RTNETLINK answers: Operation not permitted". Additionally, trying `iw wlan0 set power_save off` gives me "input/output err (-5)".
What options do I have here? Should I just try using the tsys mainline kernel? Should I try the tsys firmware? https://gitlab.manjaro.org/tsys/pinebook-firmware/tree/master/brcm

I switched to the Manjaro firmware and am seeing some improvement.
With stock wifi firmware I was holding for 5min then would stop and not restart before a reboot.

With Manjaro wifi firmware I get 20-30min before the same thing happens. Still unusable but at least a change.
Make of this what you will I guess.

What concerns me is that that is not my issue in the slightest. My issue is that I cannot set the link up by any means... it is completely non-functional, not just flaky. I have checked the hardware switch and rfkill values.

Looks like the firmware in the void repos and in the tsys repo were insufficient. They were missing files necessary to set up the wifi. I have since copied over the wifi firmware from the original rootfs, but I cannot find where that firmware exists anywhere else (i.e. publicly). I could only find it on the device itself.
