Half Life on Pinebook Pro - colemancda - 11-20-2019

Game extracted from my Linux x86_64 (Ubuntu 19.04) installation.

Followed this Tutorial.

RE: Half Life on Pinebook Pro - Wizzard - 11-21-2019

That looks great. Sorry for being offtopic, but it seems that you can also manage to run Stella/Retroarch/RetroPie inside Linux on PBP with full speed. I tried that, but it is unbelievably slow (using Ubuntu, there must be some problem with driver/SDL or whatever). I checked that tutorial, but it seems to be too complicated for me.

RE: Half Life on Pinebook Pro - tophneal - 11-21-2019

The PBP is certainly faster than the last PC I played HL on, I remember Barney walking SO much slower in the intro. Awesome to see! Once bluetooth is working (in Manjaro,) it'll be fun to have the option of using the PBP to take emulation with me when I go out.

RE: Half Life on Pinebook Pro - colemancda - 11-21-2019

The tearing is due to GL4ES (OpenGL ES 2 to OpenGL 1 wrapper). If the engine is modified to use OpenGL ES 2 instead, this will run great.

RE: Half Life on Pinebook Pro - binholz - 12-02-2019

I got this running on android with Xash and the same with BlueShift and Counter Strike.

Return to castle wolfenstine and Jedi Academy are also playable.

All are playable with a keyboard, mouse support isn't that great without root. I assume an Xbox 360 controller will work, I haven't tried it with the pinebook pro yet.

RE: Half Life on Pinebook Pro - Tazdevl - 01-16-2020

CS:GO would be epic ;-)

RE: Half Life on Pinebook Pro - Luke - 01-16-2020

You can play CS 1.6 online: https://cs-online.club/
It is cheater ridden as hell tho, so I'd spare myself the experience...

[edit] you need chromium browser for this because you need acceleration

performance mode is a must...
it includes better skins from black mesa and better textures also my save games are there too Big Grin  impulse 101 and godmode are on on the saves... Sorry about that I've just copy all from my phone and build it have no time to clean it or to play with the best game settings
on the stock debian is playable.. not the best experience but its playable

As for the counter strike 1.6
I've try to build csmoe but it gave me some strange errors around 60% mark that made me sad becouse I've made a very nice cs-go looking build.. And it looks great on the rpi 4
I think is not compatible with the rk3399 or the stock debian will you try to buid it on manjaro
just to see if its possible ?
