Desktop board? - nixcamic - 11-14-2019

Would Pine64 ever consider making a desktop board in mini atx format with a couple of PCIe slots and maybe even expandable RAM? It would be awesome to be able to just chuck it into an old case and have a functioning modern ARM system that you can expand with off the shelf components. Would be great for development, home servers, media centeres etc.

I'd love one, especially if it had at least 16 cores.

I'd like to see a 32 cores ARM64 board, upgradable RAM up to 64 GB, a couple PCI-E 3 slots and the mosti important, it has a community surrounding it.

That's all I need, by the way.

Second to all this.

Have to imagine that this will be quite a ways down the road, but I'll be patient.

Just to show that there is apparently a market for this, Huawei just released a desktop ARM motherboard. https://www.tomshardware.com/news/huawei-introduces-desktop-pc-motherboard-for-kunpeng-920-armv8-processors

so did SolidRun (HoneyComb Board) and at 750$ for the board + com7 module, it's even somewhat affordable.

I mean it'd really be nice if it was closer to the $100 or $150 mark, given that it would basically be a RockPro64 on a larger PCB, with some more PCIe slots, a SATA chip and maybe not even any RAM, just slots.
