USB-C hub/dock/video - Corkonian - 11-02-2019

Being a long time Windows Phone user, I still have a Microsuft USB-C Display Dock lying around.
My Lumia 950 is obsolete, but if possible, I would want to reuse the MS Display Dock.
It charges via USB-C, that's good, but as soon as I plug it in, the Pinebook display starts to blink. There is only the PB built-in display in the Control Centre/Displays dialog.
A keyboard connected to the USB hub won't work either. Strange.

I tried a couple of Amazon combo hubs (USB-C to HDMI/USB3/Ethernet/USB-C-charge) myseld and found only the video and USB-C charging worked on USB-C
The other stuff (but not HDMI and USB-C charging) worked when using the same hub with a USB-C to USB-3 adapter in the USB3 socket
The USB-C to HDMI video needs to be "alternate display port mode" to work.

I think there was talk, on here, of a hub that did provide everything - can't remember where I saw it.

Apparently, there IS some video detection going on, otherwise it wouldn't blink, but I fear the blinking means nothing good.
