.... and there will be a Debian 10 in time.

RE: Default OS update log - ak_hepcat - 11-04-2019

regarding the swapfile issue...

I'm actually surprised that there's a hard-coded file in /etc/fstab.

Debian makes this really easy with the 'dphys-swapfile' package, and it will try to "do the right thing" for your system.
No manual futzing around at all.

This build also includes a root terminal.  I found that some commands worked with it, that did not work with sudo.

Can you provide examples?

Even after the MrFixIt 1.4 update, my Firefox still crashes Every time after 30 seconds. Is that normal ? Is there any patch or workaround known for this issue ?

My Firefox was crashy initially, but since applying all updates, it only crashes when changing or turning on/off a VPN.

If I recall, I was trying to change to directory only root could read.

If I understand correctly what you mean it's not supposed to work, but without exact command and corresponding output/error I can only guess.

Yup... or with any network interface change, like WiFi disconnecting.

Strange, my PBP ran Firefox fine before and after the updates, the Chromium browser never finished 'Loading' when I tried it.

( I have the original Mate/Debian still installed)

I did have to futz with the sound software a little bit to get it going.

But more recently  I have noticed some of the ads on YouTube do not have sound  ?  (Not that it is a huge deal...But )

All the videos seem to have sound and some of the ads do  ?

*  I am wondering if that could have anything to do with the fact that this version of FireFox does not appear to have DRM  ?     Thoughts  ?
