No top system menu - maxchess - 06-13-2019

Hi,
Just got my Rock64Pro and installed Ubuntu 18.04 Bionic    LXDE Desktop aarch64  from SD card

All seemed to go well, but there is no "Top Menu" So i cannot find a way of accessing network settings, for example to setup wifi using a dongle.

previously using Debian on RPI.

Any ideas

Have now found the network connection menu, but it’s empty.
Problem remains, how to connect Wi-fi

Hi, I think you may find mrfixit's debian easier https://github.com/mrfixit2001/debian_desktop/releases

if you run into issues with wifi, just use nmtui.

Need to use Ubuntu as using this to run Astronomy equipment using INDI/Ekos.
Will have a look at nmtui. Is there a gui equivalent?

Have ordered Pine Wi-fi module, but while I wait is there a Wi-fi dongle that works?
