I tried what you suggested and it did not work. I don't think Armbian recognised the eMMC.
Would booting into a distro on the MicroSD and formatting the the eMMC via the command line help?

How did you come up with such conclusion ?
My Pinebook is seeing the eMMC without issue ...
Did you check "dmesg | grep -i mmc" ?

I didn't. That would be beyond my capabilities. How would I do it?
I have had problems with the new eMMC taking a new install since I got it.

Simply copy/paste coomand I've mentioned : "dmesg | grep -i mmc" and post resulting output ...

Will do when I can. I’m in work for 3/4 days
