Pine64 not powering up. - skylab - 02-26-2019 Hello everyone, I have a Pine64-db rev b i bought a while ago, i've never used it and it was sitting in the static bag , i now decide to use it with octoprint for my 3d printer and i applied power and while the monitor get drive for a few seconds, it reverts to no signal present , only the power led is illuminate , the usb keyboard led flashes when power is applied but thats it..it sits there dead..nothing , can anyone help me how to proceed from here. RE: Pine64 not powering up. - dkryder - 02-26-2019 you need a good power supply. probably 2amp. you would be best to have ethernet connected at 1st boot. if i remember you need a monitor that does 720p or 1080p. it can stall if you do not have ethernet. then just have kb/mouse. it takes a while for 1st boot. what you experience is a common experience. if it persists try powering it via the pins. the usb power socket is lame. Thank you for the reply i'm currently using a 5V 2.5Amp psu , i had an hdmi->dvi adapter connected and the monitor got drive, i also switched to a TV set with hdmi and the same thing..no display , just a drive signal and then back to no signal, i however didnt have the ethernet connected as i was hoping to use wifi.. i will try with this and report back.. thanks again. RE: Pine64 not powering up. - dkryder - 02-26-2019 as i recall the dvi-hdmi did not work except in a limited number of setups with a certain type of dvi-hdmi adapter, don't remember the details. also, tv sets were problematic for some reason. it's all here in the forum if you care to search, but a straight hdmi monitor with 720p or 1080p is best bet. this pine64 board can be a frustrating beast until you get to know the ins & outs. good luck. RE: Pine64 not powering up. - skylab - 02-26-2019 Reporting back: so i connected the Ethernet and DVI->HDMI and behold she powers up..only to be faced with another error but this is related to the image i downloaded i suspected , but i wanted to thank you for your guidance. i'll try another image and see if i can get a terminal or desktop and work from there..i can now justify buying another board for my openHAB.. RE: Pine64 not powering up. - Mendota - 05-03-2019 I had a similar issue. It happened because my husband attempted to turn it on with the battery dead. It would light up green on the base and the screen would flicker and then go out. I fixed it by hold down the power button, it then booted all the way up with me holding the button. After it made it to the desktop I selected shut down and it powered down and the indicator lit up red and it began charging. Lithium batteries do not like to be run down to zero. Thought I would post this in case someone else ran into the same issue. |
