I plan to buy one RockPro64 2gb, maybe 4gb to use with Linux.

I am wondering to know if the PCIe slot in this board can work with a dedicated graphics card like this

The main problem is booting the kernel with a non PCIe->SATA controller, most cards make the kernel to panic.

Another issue would be to know whether the drivers can initialize the card without the help of the VideoBIOS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_BIOS), which likely can. I connected many years ago a Geforce 8400GS PCI to an old Pentium II from Dell, and despite it did not show the boot process, I could start Xorg with "nouveau" driver. So I expect that "nouveau" and "radeon" can initialize the cards.

Another problem seems to be how much power can be provided through the PCIe slot, it sounds like most of the beefy cards need to pull 75 watts from the PCIe slot, even if it has gpu power connectors on the card.
