Yep. Long way to go tho.

So you guys have got it working in your emulator image?
I only have 1080p to check on but the LibreElec guys seem to have it pretty much operational, the interface is now rapid and the cpu is hardly being tickled on a single core.
Its been a while since I had a look at the Rock64 and sort of gave up because of the poor mali drivers and OpenGL ES problems & performance.
The LibreElec image is a first with OpenGL ES running and wondering why this is not in bionic or other 4.4 kernels? I will check some of the other images but pretty sure Xserver is running under that LVMpipe disaster.

The boot on LibreElec on a RockPro64 from what I have seen before seems sensationally fast and hope the full addon repo will available on full release.

The source code for that working image is here if anyone wants to take a look: https://github.com/CvH/LibreELEC.tv/tree/9.0/rock-prs

Yeah the Mali implementation with OpenGL ES seems one of the best I have seen.

Been wondering the NiC problems LibreELEC.tv/packages/linux-drivers/

Miss the RTL821x drivers that I think went in 4.6 and just needs https://elixir.bootlin.com/linux/v4.6/source/drivers/net/phy/realtek.c + wifi

Yes, and its performing beyond my expectations on very conservative CPU/GPU freqs. Things are progressing quickly, so its highly likely that you'll get a chance to try it and judge for yourself later this month / beginning of October.
