how to upgrade stock rom 8.1 on XZ file - dhruan - 07-04-2018

Hi there,

I have dowload the 8.1 Oreo stock rom with file XZ. I don't know how to upgarde my Rock64 with this XZ file. Please tell me how to upgrade thid XZ file on my Rock64. Thanks

You cannot 'upgrade' your Rock64's android system. This will purge your installation and install the new A 8.1.
You need to unarchive the xz file so you get a .img file. All other information concerning flashing OS images can be found here: http://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/NOOB

Luke, I have unrar the XZ file and got img file, then upgrade by Android Tool V2.38. It showed "Loading firmware failed".
How can I do now?

Its not a file you can use with RK tools. You need Etcher similar dd utility. Read the link I posted for you.

Yeah I have to use Etcher 1.44
1. select Image: I choose stock rom 8.1.img
2. Select Drive: It said "connect a drive" but I cannot click on it, It doesn't happen.

Please tell me how to use Etcher 1.44.
