New User - No image file in LibreELEC download - Frogmella - 06-09-2018 Been trying for two hours to sort this out. (Using Windows7 64 bit to copy to SD Card) I followed the link to the github page and downloaded libreELEC.tv-archived-re-leia24.zip file. (it was top of the list with the most recent date but there sre no instructions at all on github for noobs) I extracted it using 7-zip into its own folder on my hard drive. I have formatted my 16Gb SD card. I downloaded Etcher. When I try to copy the image there is no .img.gz file. (Like I had for my RPi3) I have tried downloading the tar.gz and extracting that to the folder but nothing recognised by etcher appears. Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong? Thanks in advance for any help. RE: New User - No image file in LibreELEC download - gigagames - 06-10-2018 you downloaded here ? https://github.com/Raybuntu/LibreELEC.tv-archived/releases/tag/rb-leia24 Thats not an IMAGE its just the SOURCE (as it says Source code (zip)) so you CANT Flash this on the SD card. For the LibreELEC images use one of this links: http://test.libreelec.tv/ http://kwiboo.libreelec.tv/test/ The Kwiboo images, fixed an error where you get blackscreen after you stop a video / a video ends. That is still now in the images on "test." (at least not in the version from 08.06) RE: New User - No image file in LibreELEC download - Frogmella - 06-10-2018 (06-10-2018, 02:10 AM)gigagames Wrote: you downloaded here ? https://github.com/Raybuntu/LibreELEC.tv-archived/releases/tag/rb-leia24 Thanks very much. It seems the Pine64 website is linking noobs to the wrong place. As you can see I'm no linux expert I just want to use the Rock as a media centre. Kwiboo seems to have exactly what I need. Do I need the .tar file as well as the .img.gz? Means the wiki needs to be updated, as the below is not correct then. (06-10-2018, 02:33 AM)Frogmella Wrote: Do I need the .tar file as well as the .img.gz? Unlikely, it's probably the same image just compressed two different ways... I would think you only need the img.gz file. I'm just updating that wiki entry now since it's obviously wrong or out of date. It also crashes if you try and use the search facility in an AddOn. Can anyone direct me to a link for a stable 17.6 Kryton image for the Rock64? Thanks again. RE: New User - No image file in LibreELEC download - gigagames - 06-10-2018 @Frogmella as i sayd "The Kwiboo images, fixed an error where you get blackscreen after you stop a video / a video ends. That is still now in the images on "test." (at least not in the version from 08.06)" So download from http://kwiboo.libreelec.tv/test/ the LibreELEC-RK3328.arm-9.0-devel-20180606204626-0267cea-rock64.img.gz and you good to go What do you mean with "search facility" And the img.gz -> is the image the .tar is for updating with the Update folder (if samba is activ you just can download it on you main pc drop it in the update folder and restart) RE: New User - No image file in LibreELEC download - Frogmella - 06-10-2018 (06-10-2018, 01:13 PM)gigagames Wrote: @Frogmella as i sayd "The Kwiboo images, fixed an error where you get blackscreen after you stop a video / a video ends. The search facility is when you use an addon with the facility to search for the stream you want to watch. Do that (at least on the two main add ons I use) and firstly no results are returned, then the system locks, then it crashes. I simply didn't realise that there was no stable LibreELEC for the Rock64 or I wouldn't have bought it. I'm going to try to install Android for the time being and add Kodi from the play store until the LibreELEC issues have been ironed out (if ever they are). One guy on the LibreELEC forum said that LibreELEC may NEVER be stable on the Rock64 as its development is purely experimental at the moment. RE: New User - No image file in LibreELEC download - gigagames - 06-11-2018 @Frogmella "search facillity" like in the youtube plugin for searching a video ? test & kwiboo works for me stable, youtube, netflix, 1080p60fps videos. But i have installed it on an eMMC card. If you have an eMMC card, try to installed it on there, it can be an problem with you SD card (maybe to slow) If you doint have an SD card. Install u-Boot and install LibreELEC on an USB stick. The search facility in Placenta and Neptune Rising addons was non-functional and caused a crash. There were other problems too. I have now installed Android and downloaded Kodi from the playstore, seems to work fine that way so far although I hate having Android on the board. I'll keep an eye on developments and may try LibreELEC again in a couple of months. Thanks for taking the time to respond:-)) |
