USA manufacturing possibilities? - Rustproof - 04-30-2018

Any consideration on going with a US distribution company for the Rock64Pro or the other boards? There is a company out of California that specializes in quick-turn Printed Circuit Board Assembly.

I don't think manufacturing in the US is something that will happen. But you can buy Pine64 boards from both amazon and Ameridroid (they recently announced they will carry the RockPro64: https://twitter.com/ameridroidSBC/status/990341454768713728)

For manufacturing in US, create a PCB is just a simple small step. The cost of blank PCB create from quick turn company may be the same price as the ROCKpro64 retail price.

Based on current assessment, I don't think we will consider.

Manufacturing costs are important. How about a pre-order waiting list going for the ROCKpro64?

There appears to be a high demand for the ROCKPro64 that a volume order would help everyone get their hands on one. I don't know how many units went out on the pilot program, but I'd really like to order one or two units for next month.

According to this thread, the ROCK64Pro sold out within 12 hours.
