LAMP on Rock64 - Matte - 03-30-2018

Hello everyone, I'm Matteo. A few days ago I'm trying to install a web environment on 4GB Rock64. I tried both with Debian and Ubuntu, but I had installation errors on MariaDB and PHP. Sometimes I've had kernel panics. Confused
What can I do?
What is the best distro to make a LAMP environment on Rock64?
thanks.

A kernel panic after a fresh install with automatic reboots isn't unusual... last time I saw that there was even a message indicating that it was being automatically fixed so it didn't happen again - so it may be something to do with self-tuning.

However, for a LAMP stack OS I would recommend either the xenial-minimal or xenial-containers rock64 builds - try both the "stable" (currently 0.5.15) and "testing" (currently  0.6.28) builds. I'm running the 0.6.25 container build on both SD and eMMC with no issues, and prefer the container build so things like MariaDB, apache, plex, etc, can run in docker containers... If you're still having trouble, maybe try the Armbian rock64 builds...

RE: LAMP on Rock64 - Rustproof - 04-06-2018

I agree with using the Community Build Xenial Minimal Linux Kernel Armbian build.

Good luck!
