4K HDR Video - GeerGuy - 02-06-2018 Which OS/Application can play 4K HDR video? Android 7.1? Linux? Which version? Which player? Ideally, I would like to play 4K HDR files with Python on Linux without a GUI. Thanks! RE: 4K HDR Video - Luke - 02-07-2018 Currently 4K HDR can only be played back on Android. But I've spoken to LibreELEC guys last week at FOSDEM and they are working on a HDR implementation. So I'd imagine it will be available on Linux in the near future. RE: 4K HDR Video - elatllat - 02-07-2018 The drivers for linux on RK3328 have been in the works for ~ a year, the RK3399 seems to have better linux support. Maybe the RockPro64 will be available first. RE: 4K HDR Video - GeerGuy - 02-08-2018 OK, I guess I should have researched it more. I just assumed that since it is marketed as a "4K60P HDR Media Board Computer" that the OS support for it was already available. Maybe I can do what I want to do in Android, instead of Linux. Thanks RE: 4K HDR Video - m2002brian - 05-02-2018 I’ve been able to playback 4k HDR videos via The Android TV image (Pine Installer) but I have been unsuccessful with the Rock64 outputting a HDR signal to my TV. My TV prominently displays a HDR logo when a HDR video begins playing. Any ideas how I should have this setup to no only playback HDR but also output the correct signal to my TV? Than you RE: 4K HDR Video - mcerveny - 05-02-2018 (02-06-2018, 04:33 PM)GeerGuy Wrote: Ideally, I would like to play 4K HDR files with Python on Linux without a GUI.I prepared and tested HDR pipe MPP+DRM for Rock64 (HDR decoding and display 4k60 but display only 4k30 (eg. not HDR 4k60, but untested tested on new RockChip kernel patches)) - see MPP+DRM tests. I found and resolved some faults in RockChip MPP and RockChip kernel 4.4. RockChip ignored any requests (see mpp#38 and kernel#61 ...) so I stopped my development/troubleshooting of HDR pipe and any other RockChip code. MPV/Kodi are probably still blocked (kwiboo#22, kwiboo#24). RockChip marketing still say "4k60 4:4:4" (TMDS 594MHz) but limited in code (TMDS 371MHz, eg. 4k60 yuv420p10le) and true output has limits (TMDS 297MHz) on Rock64 with RockChip 4.4 linux . |
