flash image directly to eMMC? - gmruiz - 01-07-2018 Hello, It´s the first time that I use a eMMC module, and I have one question. I have bought the USB adapter for eMMC module (https://www.pine64.org/?product=usb-adapter-for-emmc-module), and I have tested that is possible to flash images to the USB with the eMMC module. My question is if it's possible to flash an image direcly to the USB and the connect the eMMC module to the ROCK64 to boot, or if it's necesary to do the process with the sdcard and the jumper. if not, what is the reason? Thank you in advance, Gregorio Martinez. RE: flash image directly to eMMC? - dkryder - 01-07-2018 be sure that the image you burn to emmc is for the emmc and not a sd card image or a sd card to emmc image. and, yes, if it is proper image you can use adapter to burn to emmc. RE: flash image directly to eMMC? - Malmgren - 01-09-2018 Hmm... I'm waiting to get my first Rock64, I thought I could just do as the op says and flash a sd card image to the emmc. If I look here practically all images says either "microSD Boot" or "microSD to eMMC", so I guess they aren't useful then. Where do I find images that are made for emmc? RE: flash image directly to eMMC? - dkryder - 01-09-2018 on that page you linked although for some reason they are only offered for android. perhaps pine64 rotated away from letting people do their own flashing for some reason. maybe if you ask they can get you whatever it is you want. As for android, you can flash the RAW images using the adaptor. |
