dvb-usb-dib0700 module not found. - Miguel Campos - 12-01-2017

Hello guys.
I'm trying to connect a sony play tv to my pine64.
it should use the module dvb-usb-dib0700
but some how they are not there.

the firmware for the module is there. but the modules itself are not.
I checked the config.gz for the current kernel and there is no even the option.

does any one know how to get that module?

On regular linux systems I would say download the kernel complile and install but here I'm a bit affraid of doing that :-)
I was hoping apt-get could do it but
now I'm a bit lost.

Regards.

I would first check if that module/driver even exists for 3.10.107 kernel trees, but if it does it needs a new kernel build with the module enabled...

Thanks for your answer.

it does exist in deed for 3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.39-1+deb8u2 (2017-03-07) x86_64 GNU/Linux
which is the same kind of version although for a diferent platform.

I do not know alot about the arm64 arquitecture but the idea is that most of the things stays the same.

The problem with building the module manually at least from what I have experienced in the past with x68 systems,
is that later when you what to use apps from the distribution  there is allways something that they do not like about a custom kernel Confused

That's why I always try to keep it as standard as posible.

Thanks.
