Any plans for Rock64 mk 2? - Arkadiusz - 12-01-2017

To make it stronger competitor to others?

Now it is weaker in comparing to Asus TinkerBoard. Especially from Mali performance perspective. I mean better CPU architecture gives piko gain over RK3288 of Tinker, yet it is worth to note that Rock64 is driven by 1.3GHz CPU while Tinker - 1.8GHz. But Rock64 wins by supporting USB3, however is almost 2x slower when using advanced OpenCV algorithms.

It looks like there is a "Transformer" product though it's the same SoC so the details you were comparing won't change; Looks like an Odroid-HC1 but with less software support

There will be a ROCKpro64 board roll out in early 2018 that features RK3399, dual A72/quad A53 code, MALI T860MP4 which can boost 20% more performance over RK3288 T764.

Speaking of pine64 leaving Wayland/GNU/Linux to the community there will soon be a rockchip with dd4 and maybe GNU support;

10W microUSB is common and works well for the market leader (rpi), would be nice to see a '45W USB-C Power Adapter' but that's likely a needless expense .

Wonder how this new board will match to the current Rock64? I guess diameters & sockets location does not change. 

But main thing is Ethernet/USB3 speed. With Rock64 eth max speed is 550Mbps (while on the same cable Tinker achives 920Mps) while on USB3 my 6Mpx USB3vision camera tops 120MB/s only (while supports 60fps,i.e 360 MB/s)
