Possible Hardware Fault/Issue - jata - 11-29-2017

Hi All,

I have 2 brand new rock64's 2GB. they arrived a week ago. Overall very impressed compared to my old raspberry pi.

I have installed and done a basic linux / armhf config using ayufan-rock64 (jessie-omv-armhf). Everything working fine and i'm using brand new SD cards.

I setup the second board exactly the same - again using a brand new SD card. All fine for a while then i noticed occasional issues with the OMV web interface restarting. looked at the syslog and i see the board has done a reboot cycle. there is no load on the board just restart without any user intervention. Happens every few hours but no pattern.

Thought it was an installation issue so started over but same issue.

Now i am using the same SD card and swapping between the 2 boards using same network cable and power supply.  I can can firm the issue only happens on one of the two boards.

Nothing in the logs that I can find but I'm not an expert...

Can anyone help or is this a support issue for Pine 64?

Did you try to swap the power supplies as well?

Yes. Since I first started seeing this issue I am using the same power, ethernet and SD card. Just swapping out the rock64 board to see if I can reproduce the issue on the good board.

Same thing keeps happening (board restart) without any user intervention. But only on one of my two brand new / identical boards.

Any further thoughts on this? I’m really not clear on what to do to get this resolved

Since you have a test setup where you can only swap the board and reproduce the issue consistently I would say it is really a hardware issue, I would try and get the one board replaced by Pine.
