Android Regular images are Android TV images - Nurza - 11-22-2017
Hello ! I bought a Rock64 today and I am trying to install regular on it (not android tv).
I tried some images :
https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/android-7.1/releases (android-7.1-rock-64-rock64_regular-v0.3.11-r108-raw.img.gz)
http://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/ROCK64_Software_Release#Android_7.x (Android 7.1.2 Stock Image [microSD Boot] [Rooted] [20171012])
But after booting these images are showing an Android TV display :

Its normal. Its not 'real' leanback, just a look-alike. It has the regular playstore etc.

Maybe, but the interface is Android TV like and I can't install apps like Hangout.

There is an engineering version of regular android but its an early build and I do not advise using it.

why not install a launcher that you like? goto google play, search launcher, install what you want. it should work. but as with everything else, it depends.

I tried Nova launcher and it worked. But the top bar (notification, battery, wifi signal, etc.), buttons (back, home, overview) are not here.
And I tried to install Hangout but I can't because "it's not compatible"

Android 7.1.2 Stock Image [microSD Boot] [Rooted] [20171204]
this version can boot on ROCK64 4GB but it is not stable
