news about 11.6" pinebook availability? - gritibaenz - 10-22-2017 Hello, I asked PINEBOOK Team in July, answer: "The 11.6" Pinebook are currently out of stocks and estimated to be unavailable within six months." Any further information is very welcome. Moreover, the netbook (<12") market segment is really poor in terms of supply. I hope you will produce them again. I assume being on the Ubuntu Mate Community email list is a reliable way to know whenever they will be available on BTO. btw, on Ubuntu 16.04 w/ Ayufan's Mate release I don't seem to be able to get Tor-browser to run. Some Ubuntu repositories with Tor seem to be blocked from Software Update. I download and extracted the tar from Torproject but it almost never runs and when it does it immediately "detachs." ? I read that Tor doesn't open easily in a "lightweigh Gtk based desktop environment," so maybe that's just the way it is. I downloaded something called gxmessage, but that didn't help. I can buy an external box that inserts Tor between me and my router, but if I could get it run in Mate, it would be easier ? ? Thank you. From IRC: Quote:08/11/17 23:17 <tllim> on the Pinebook front, confirm switch to 13.3" 1080p IPS panel RE: news about 11.6" pinebook availability? - Wizzard - 11-12-2017 Nice, but I like 14" more. Also, without the overal speed boost, the performance will be even poorer than with current display. Hope it will be at least Rock64 powered Pinebook RE: news about 11.6" pinebook availability? - dkryder - 11-13-2017 so is it just one pinebook now? the 13" one? |
