i want to use 2 li-ion batteries in parallel on my pine 64, but 1 of the batteries has no thermister, will the 2nd battery charge without it?

Not a good idea.

... if you need more juice, its better to get a power bank, or build an SLA CPT unit yourself;  Don't try to add a parallel lipo to your pine, and don't try to mix types!

Having said that, you might make it work...  but I don't recommend it.

Using Li(Po)/Ion in parallel can work since they are charged with constant end voltage and so you dont have an immediate balancing issue as with series connected lithium cells. But since you get a smaller overall internal resistance you might run into issues with current limiting and uneven discharge/loading.
