Same happened to me. I knew it was going to break things, but I was curious. I had some microsd card on order, which arrived today. I'm going to start again fresh.

So... installing the *exact* version in the original post does work. I guess I shouldn't try to get ahead of myself.
I've tried installing a later version but I ran into missing libs and then unsolvable dependancies, which if I'd carried on would have needed a fresh OS install.
