Rotate Display - boyatomic - 03-03-2017

Hi -
Is there an distro someone would recommend if I needed to be able to rotate the screen from landscape to portrait?
I have the ubuntu longsleep distro and the option to rotate monitors doesn't give any options.

Thank you

I am pretty sure you can rotate the X framebuffer just by setting the rotate option in your X.org config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf)

From the manual page:

Code:
Option "Rotate"

Enable rotation of the display. The supported values are "CW" (clockwise,
90 degrees), "UD" (upside down, 180 degrees) and "CCW" (counter clockwise,
270 degrees). Implies use of the shadow framebuffer layer.   Default: off.

so if you add something like

Code:
Option "rotate" "CW"

it should rotate the X screen.

Thanks for this! It worked for me on the Debian image Smile I'm trying to make an info board with my Pine64 and a salvaged LCD
